Sarah Main Biography

A strong and unwavering passion for house music has been the driving force behind DJ Sarah Main’s dynamic career that’s lasted over 2 decades, and she has the accolades to prove it.
Nominated twice at the Ibiza DJ Awards for ‘Best Ibiza DJ’, it was in 2006 that Sarah took home the coveted award. Both Erick Morillo and Pete Tong quoted her as the best warm up DJ in DJ Mag and Frankie Knuckles also cited Sarah as his favourite female DJ.
Being one of the first DJs to rise from the Australian club scene to worldwide stages, Sarah made Ibiza her home in 2001 when she secured the prestigious position of main room resident in one of the worlds most revered clubs, Pacha Ibiza. With her 12 year long Pacha residency, she was an international ambassador for the brand, headlining countless world tours, mixing a plethora of CD compilations alongside industry heavyweights such as Pete Tong and Goldfish, presenting Pacha’s first radio show on Galaxy UK and also featuring in their numerous photo campaigns.
On the airwaves, her highly successful MAINroom radio show is heard globally on over 30 FM stations and was the first electronic dance show to be commissioned by Emirates for their inflight entertainment. Her innovative show has been co-hosted by many
superstars including Alexander Ludwig (Hunger Games), Luke Worral and River Viperi
(international supermodels), Marcela Araica (Timberlands studio queen) and Tara McDonald (singer) who is also the voice of the MAINroom jingles. Currently Sarah also produces a Pacha Recordings podcast for British Airways inflight service, and hosts a weekly radio show on the famous ‘Ibiza Global Radio’.
On camera Sarah became the face of the Pioneer CDJ 400 in 2008. This was the first CDJ with USB input that led her to be selected by MOS TV to host the ‘How to DJ’ series alongside James Zabiela. Her series has had over 600,000 views on YouTube to date. She
then went on to host her own 3-hour music show on Flaunt TV and hosted an exclusive Yamabooki TV series, interviewing everyone from The Swedish House Mafia to Carl
Cox. In 2015, Yamabooki featured Sarah on ‘DJ’s - The New Superstars’, alongside artists such as Hardwell, Armin Van Bueren, David Guetta, Solomon and many more. It aired on prime time TV on Vox TV in Germany to over 1 million viewers. Sarah was also the first person onscreen in the cult film “Its All Gone Pete Tong” when she appeared as herself, discussing the controversial protagonist Frankie Wilde.
On the scene, Sarah has hosted her own MAINroom branded parties in Ibiza and around Europe. Kicking off in her original home club of Pacha Ibiza, the parties were also held at
other Ibiza hotspots such as Ocean Beach, Es Vive and the Ushuaia Tower. This coming summer will see Sarah expand into other exciting island venues with a host of new
conceptual parties.
Sarah’s sound is pure house. A sound that stole her heart in 94’ and has stayed in her sets ever since. On the decks Sarah is masterful and technically gifted. Being inspired by mix masters, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez, Sarah has honed her skills over the years to give a dynamic performance. She uses 4 CDJs, incorporates
Technics 1200 vinyl decks and elegantly layers effects and samples to create an unsurpassed energy on the dance floor.
In the studio, Sarah is full steam ahead in 2016. She has many releases planned for the
upcoming summer on her own MAINroom imprint and other illustrious labels. 2016 is set to be another exciting year for Sarah Main.
