Clampett

Raised in North Carolina, Katelyn Clampett is a young artist, songwriter and producer who has been making a name for herself on both the East and West coasts. At just the age of 17, Katelyn won a Songwriting and Vocal scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music. In 2008, she won the “Performer/Songwriter Showcase” and the “Songwriting Competition” at Berklee College of Music, and was even nominated by the Berklee Songwriting Faculty to work with Paul Simon. After graduating from Berklee, she went on to Hollywood to compete on American Idol Season 9, where Kara Dioguardi called her "the full package," and Victoria Beckham gushed "I just love your style and everything about you." Shortly after, Clampett moved to LA, where she made it into the Top 12 for a musical reality show on Bravo called "Platinum Hit," hosted by Jewel and Kara Dioguardi, featuring 12 of the best singer/songwriters in the country. Clampett decided to pull out of the show last minute. She remembers walking out that day, when a camera man stopped her and said "That's too bad. You were my favorite." While living in Los Angeles, Katelyn was asked to join Selena Gomez and The Scene as a background singer, where she toured the world for the next 2 years. She also toured with Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice as her background singer, keyboardist and acoustic guitarist. She has shared the stage with numerous artists, including Ariana Grande and Vince Gill, and has spent the last year opening for country acts such as Dan + Shay, Love and Theft, Gloriana, etc.. Though on the road, her passion and true talent was always songwriting. She would make trips in between touring to Nashville to write with and for other artists, particularly in the Christian market (Leigh Nash, Elevation Church, etc.). "I knew I would ultimately end up here in Nashville. It was just a matter of time." Katelyn has not only worked as a songwriter, but as a producer, working with numerous artists, TV shows and companies (Dancing With The Stars, The Golf Channel, Budlight, etc.). "It's funny. When I walk into a room, people expect me to be the stereotypical singer. They quickly find out that I'm a not-so-closeted nerd." In September of 2013, Katelyn made the long drive from California to Tennessee, upon signing (on the spot after an acoustic performance) with CAA. She has spent the last year writing for her debut record, as well as for other artists. She works from various publishing houses and from her home studio. You can currently catch Katelyn (CAA, Gellman Management) performing around Nashville. She is extremely excited about the music to be released in 2016, so stay tuned!
