Both David Thong and Laura Farrell (guitar and vocals) are left handed but play the guitar like a righty. What’s up with that? With only 10-15% of the population possessing this trait, it is part of what sets RHL apart. In fact they have become known for their creative mash ups and unexpected reggae inspired beats. Started by Laura and David, the group is not complete without Alan Day, Tony Lazzeroni, and Ben Heung. Laura is classically trained on the violin, which makes an appearance from time to time. She used to play with Frederick based folk group, the ‘Yardslippers’ and later DC area group ‘Big Honey’. She also spen time as the front person for DC/VA based cover band Rave Parade. She is currently working on her first solo album. David is a former member of ‘Temporary Basement’ and ‘Party Like It’s’., who perform larger venues including Seacrets in Ocean City, MD and The Bullpen at Nationals Park, DC. Alan is the beat master, changing up songs midway keeping everyone on their toes. Music has been part of his life ever since he was a child watching his father play in a local funk band. His influences range from Michael Jackson to 311 and of course hip hop from coast to coast. Alan is also a member of ‘Last Second Left’, a reggae/rock band. Tony (Big Tony), keeps us rockin' solid. No doubt he keeps us on track and lays down a sick bass line for us to rock out to. Also, he's one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. Ben is the final piece to the party. Without question on of the area's best guitar players, Ben can play pretty much anything, on the spot, as he has had to do from time to time. He's up for the challenge, and RHL appreciates him for that. The Right Handed Lefties cover many genres of music focusing mostly on the 80’s, 90’s, and today. With killer vocals, outstanding harmonies and a beat to keep you going all night, the Right Handed Lefties never disappoint.
