Cafolla & Engel Ivano teamed up with Chris Engel in 2012 to create one of Ireland’s best known duos. Ivano plays an eclectic mix of house alongside Chris on the Sax. The two guys have a passion for the same music and this is clear to see when they play together. Cafolla and Engel are the residents in The Grafton Lounge on Saturdays in Dublin as well as having a monthly residency in Havana Browns in Cork, Halo Nightclub Club Galway, Karma Athlone, The Church, Entourage in Dublin. The lads are currently in the studio working on a couple of tracks for release in the winter 2014. Cafolla and Engel started a nationwide tour from January 2014 doing venues all around Ireland midweek and weekend shows. The lads did a few dates in Dubai in March 2014 and are set to travel to Norway at the end of the summer and Cape Town in November. Ivano Cafolla Ivano Cafolla started DJing when he was 15 and landed his first residency just 3 months after starting in Kids discos all over Dublin. He became resident DJ in the infamous nightclub Renards at the age of 17. After being noticed in Renards Ivano also held residencies in Lillie Bordello, Cocoon and Spirit nightclub. Ivano played alongside some of the biggest DJs in the world while he was the resident DJ in Spirit including Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, Robbie Rivera and Basment Jaxx to name a few. Ivano set up online going out guide Afterdark.ie in 2006 where he got involved in the promoting side of the business. Ivano got noticed on the international stage when playing in a bar in Marbella, Spain by one of the UK’s biggest promoting companies Sintillate. Ivano held summer residencies in Marbella in clubs like Pangea, TIBU, Dreamers, Ocean Club and Plaza Beach. Afterdark.ie launched The Kitchen Nightclub in 2011 where Ivano was the resident dj alongside two other Dublin DJs, FM104 Al Gibbs and Steve O. Afterdark had 3 massively successful years in The Kitchen brining in international DJs like Funkagenda, Sapeshifters, Bingo Players, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Michael Woods, Hot Since 82, Prupia, Felix Da Housecat, An21 and Max Vangelli and Hardwell. Ivano played alongside all of these international acts and off the back of these gigs got booked to play in Ibiza in September 2013. Chris Engel House Bio Over the last 6 or so years, Chris Engel has enjoyed an active career in the field of House, Electronic, and Dance Music. Having been educated in the fields of jazz, improvised music and experimental music for most of his life; Chris Engel started with what some would call an ideal foundation, having the tools necessary to cultivate a truly individual and innovative sound as a "house saxophonist". Chris has been fortunate enough to hold residencies at clubs such as Fashion TV (Cape Town, RSA), Asoka (Cape Town, RSA), La Belle Sole (Oslo, NO), Manolo (Oslo, NO), Bar(t) (Hemsedal, Norway), The Grafton Lounge (Dublin), Havana Browns (Cork), Dandelion (Dublin), Halo (Galway) and The Lost Society (Dublin). He has also performed at clubs and events throughout South Africa, Dubai, Mozambique, Switzerland, Croatia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and France at venues such as Chi at the Lodge (Dubai), Hemisphere (South Africa), Feliz (Norway), Hula Hula Beach Bar (Hvar, Croatia), at the Nasimi Beach Full Moon Party alongside renowned Australian DJ Sonny Fodera, The Button Factory alongside renowned British DJ Mark Knight, AND Oxegen Festival alongside DJ and FM104 radio celebrity Al Gibbs to name but a few. In the field of house music production, Chris has been working as part of The Prodigal Sons (with Rampus), releasing remixes and original productions for Solar Sounds (Manchester, UK) and Axis Trax (USA) and recording with the likes of house legends such as Monique Bingham, Janine Johnson and Ronnie Canada. He’s also worked with Dublin’s own DUB’D OUT, Steve O, Al Gibbs and Ivano Cafolla and is due to release a number of singles and EP’s later this year.
