Originally from Leicester UK, he is based in Los Angeles via London. KAV's debut album “The Man With No Shadow” was released in August 2014 & was well received on US College Radio making it into the Top 30 College Charts, with tracks also being played on major commercial stations such as KROQ, KEGR & KDHX. KROQ drive-time DJ Ted Stryker made Blaggers N' Liars his “4.20" pick twice in 2014, with support also coming from legendary KROQ DJ Rodney Bingemheimer. KAV’s first single of 2014 “Dance in a Panic” had its first spin on US Radio from tastemaker Nic Harcourt on KCSN. The track was used in a teaser for the movie “Decoding Annie Parker” & featured Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) dancing to the track. KAVs music has also seen airplay support on UK stations such as XFM & Kerrang! Radio. In 2013 Kate Lawler & Matt Stocks both made “Dirty Rejects” their ‘Single of The Week’. KAV’s album features various close friends & musicians guesting on the record. It was recorded between LA, London & finished at KAV’s recording studio in Leicestershire, which he took over when fellow Leicester band Kasabian moved out. The album was co-produced by Josh Ostrander from US band Eastern Conference Champions (ECC), Nick Trepka & KAV & also heavily featured London musician Peter Oag, with string & keyboard arrangements. KAV also produces & works with other artists. In 2013 he worked with fashion icon Zombie Boy, co-producing & developing Zombie Boys music whilst touring Europe & playing a live show as part of New York Fashion Week. Zombie Boy also guested on KAV's single “Dirty Rejects”. He recorded & worked with Welsh author Howard Marks aka “Mr Nice” releasing the “The Mr Nice EP” in 2010. KAV has also guested on guitar with Norweigan dance-rockers DATAROCK on many occasions. KAV supported Kasabian at Brixton Academy & Libertines/ Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty in Camden London. He was recently joined on stage by Oasis’s founding guitarist Bonehead for his Viper Room show in LA. Other notable gigs include a headline show for Club NME @ Koko in Camden & playing Hyde Park as part of the London Olympics 2012, El Rey Theatre LA & several shows at SXSW & CMJ. KAV played guitar with Manchester legends Happy Mondays from May 2004 to Sep 2007. He helped front-man Shaun Ryder reform the band in 2004. During this time he toured internationally & played festivals from Fuji Rock, Coachella & V festival. KAV co-wrote on Happy Mondays album “Uncle Dysfunctional” released in 2007. He also co-wrote & played on single “Playground Superstar” released in 2005, which became title track for the movie “Goal”. The soundtrack was released on Noel & Liam Gallagher (Oasis)’s "Big Brother Records" & Sony Music Worldwide. KAV was joined by Shaun Ryder onstage at Glastonbury 2005 with his side project “Sonic Audio”. KAV was also the founder & frontman of Leicester band A.K.A Weave who worked with ex Oasis bassist Guigsy & built a lot of hype in early 2000, touring with the likes of Mani from The Stone Roses & Primal Scream, Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets, Peter Hook from New Order/ Joy Division & Shaun Ryder. In 2004 KAV co-founded “GETLOADED” club nights at Turnmills which saw rock n' roll guests perform, host & DJ at London super club Turnmills. Including the late Tony Wilson Factory Records. He also co-launched Award Winning “GETLOADED in The Park” a 20,000+ capacity music festival on Clapham Common. The festival won “Best New Festival” at the UK Festival Awards in 2004, and ran for 7 years. KAV recently launched “Dance in a Panic” club nights in Los Angeles, featuring some his favourite artists & DJ’s. The club-night will see a big launch in April 2015 as part of BRITWEEK. “Free Spirit'; a powerful three-minute joy-ride”… “A rollercoaster of emotions & electricity courses through KAV’s The Man With No Shadow, making this possibly one of the strongest album releases of 2014.
