Spacebear Biography
SLIGHTLY SMARTER MUSIC
FOR YOUR EAR HOLES
Spacebear is a raw, powerful, and insatiably energetic alternative rock trio from Houston, TX. Their music blends influences across the pantheon of rock options. Straight up rock beats and growling baritone vocals give way to hook-infested pop choruses and chaotic guitar solos to form a solid groove on a foundation of modern rock sensibilities.
(That's a really long-winded marketing-speak way to say the band kicks some serious ass and you should be listening to them right now.)
Formed in early 2014 by guitarist/singer Kyle Lanter and drummer Luis Fermin, the band quickly enlisted veteran rock bassist Jamie Ferrini to complete the tight powerhouse trio. Lyrically influenced by rock and roll, questionable relationships, science fiction, and a rhyme book somebody left in the front yard the band has plenty to say and isn't afraid to use a massive wall of sound to do it.
Their debut album "Straight for the Sun" was released on February 20th, 2016 and is currently getting huge airplay at over 80 radio stations across the country and has broken into the TOP 200 CMJ music charts.
"Spacebear’s true achievement lies in their seemingly off the cuff ability to fuse intelligent lyrical content, memorable melodies, and often raucous guitar while retaining a slightly skewed personality all their own."
