Godmachine Biography

“Singularity: To symbolize two entities becoming one. This "singularity" is also sometimes called the "big bang" or the birth of the universe. This singularity signals the breakdown of relativity. It could be a parallelism to the event of creation and this first offering being our first creation and the beginning of the world.” The singularity of Mecha and John Odin. Mecha and John Odin as GODMACHINE. Their musical identities are worlds apart, but their undaunted common eagerness to progress their craft, passion, and electronic journey brought them together. They created a union between two incomparable genres that some may think are conflicting. But that is about to change. Combining 11 years of experience in the local and international electronic scene, this up and coming tandem is anything but the latter. As individuals, they have been treading on and leading in differentt platforms– John Odin of Trance ‘Til Dawn, having been leading the local Trance movement, was recently invited to take stage at the Mysterious World Music Festival in Malaysia. While Mecha of The Wildlife, has been making waves in various DJ and production competitions, having won and is the Philippine’s current Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Champion. How did it all come about? It all started over a hashtag. In a rare occasion wherein they were booked to play one after the other for an event to share the same stage, Mecha playfully hashtagged an Instragram post #godmachine. Combining 'god' (Trance) for John Odin, and 'machine' (Dubstep) for Mecha. This sparked John Odin to contact Mecha to do a collaboration. Dubstep and Trance, side by side. This then lead to their debut at Zero Mondays at Imperial Ice Bar (The Fort Strip, BGC), and they definitely did not disappoint. It wasn't like anything that had entered the euphonic ears of John Odin's Trance crowd, nor the bass-worn ears of Mecha's Dubstep and Electronic crowd. A unique sound was born. The first in Manila. The catalyst in this remarkable mix is what they have in common: the unending passion to keep advancing, pushing limits and boundaries, unafraid to walk on waters untouched. You will see this energy radiate towards their listeners from the music they create, both heavy yet melodic, distinct and extraordinary. "... the hypothesis that accelerating progress in technologies will cause a runaway effect wherein artificial intelligence will exceed human intellectual capacity and control, thus radically changing civilization in an event called 'the singularity'." The beginning of a new universe. This is GODMACHINE. Mecha and John Odin is GODMACHINE.
