The Idjits

The Idjits consists of Ciano Cioffi, Sofia Cioffi, Peter Bontempo, and Ben Puvalowski. Ciano is one of the Idjits guitarists, and has been playing guitar for over 10 years. He first started playing at the School of Rock and performing on stage at the age of 9. Ciano’s style of guitar playing comes from the influences of Jack white, Jimmy page, and Jimi Hendrix. Sofia is Ciano’s sister and bass player of the group. She has been playing bass for the past 5 years. Her music grounds them all and is the resident critic, the muddier the tone the better. Peter is the Idjits other guitarist. He is a musical genius when it comes to nasty chord progressions. Peter will pick up any guitar and play it anywhere and make is sound as if it were a lost, old friend. His influences range from folk to metal. Ben is the lyrical and vocal genius of the group, his influences range from The Strokes to The Killers to Blind Willie Johnson. However, in The Idjits, they become one. As a band The Idjits went out to create a sound that was heavily influenced by the likes of The Strokes, Jack White, Led Zeppelin, and Hendrix. In many cases they have achieved their goal. The Band has the realness of Jack White, the feel of the Strokes, and the vibe of Hendrix. There is, however, something unique about their sound, which can only be the sound of the Idjits. Ciano, Ben, and Peter have been jamming and playing shows together for about 5 years. It was until the summer of 2014 that they started to write their own music and form a concrete band. That summer they also added Sofia to the group, and played with several drummers. They are still searching for the perfect drummer to fit in the group.
