The Count Biography

There are two artists called The Count:
1.
The Count is a German band from Koblenz which combines Industrial, Wave, Electro, Gothic, Rock and Synthiepop to a new and independent sound.

After the concerts that had followed the first EP "Music For The Slaved New World" The Count backed out into their own project studio, where it was possible to work on new song material without any ruffle or excitement. The following album "Zero" contains 12 songs that show the band's constant way of permanent alteration and development without losing sight (and ear) of their unmistakable own style.

In december 2004 The Count have signed a deal with the german Gothic Label "Dark Wings". Shortly after, the production of "Zero" had been finished.

2.
The Count came about when the rest of indie rockers Campag Velocet decided to do something else. Front man Pete Voss moved on and joined forces with three Watford lads armed with an arsenal of drums, guitar and a bass. Sam, Peter and Simon had been knocking around the practice studios of Watters ford playing instrumental noise outs and not really going anywhere for a few years prior to their meeting with Pete. They needed a singer, and Pete needed a band. Luckily both parties got chatting in a local pub one night and The Count was formed.

Before entering a practice room to musically have it out a quick flick through each other's record collections told them that it was going to sound alright. Equal digging of the Jesus and Mary Chain was going on. A taste in broken beats, the odd bit of dream pop and schizo jazzing about were also there cut into the vinyl and shellac. A new shared love of the brutal menacing sound of Big Black can now be heard booming from the Countmobile in petrol stations up and down the land scaring the side chancers bowling around in their tracksuits
