About this concert

The Coyote Poets of the Universe’s music is a wide sweeping blend of jazz, Americana and blues, with instrumentation to rival the biggest of bands. The expected bass, drums, guitar and female vocalist is joined by the unexpected keyboards, saxophone, violin and oboe, creating a mini rock orchestra. This troop of minstrels is lead by KUVO’s Andy O’Leary, who was named one of 100 Colorado Creatives by Westword magazine. The Coyote Poets of the Universe were recently nominated for the Zone Music Reporter’s Best Chill/Groove Album of 2012 for their 5th release “Pandora’s Box.” The same album received a three-and-a-half star review from the prestigious Downbeat magazine, one of only a few Colorado bands to receive such an honor. “The Coyote Poets...rumble with a blues heft not easily attainable by most blues bands” Downbeat Magazine

Coyote Poets Of The Universe Biography

Originally multi-instrumentalists and radio show producers Andy O' and Gary 7 (aka Hoover) produced and recorded the first three releases by the Coyotes then started live performances utilizing a large band of upwards of 14 people at one time...Working with the large ensemble with mass personel changes over a few years CPU recorded their fourth CD "Callin' You Home" and their just released fifth recording titled "Pandora's Box" at CDBaby.com, Amazon and most download sites...for an interesting listen check out the Coyote Poets of the Universe Radio on Pandora (not only are we on there but a VERY interesting mix of our brother and sister musicians more interested in original music than whatever is fashionable to record executives and radio programmers. UNITY IN DIVERSITY We play Coyote Music...found sound all around...our ears in the heavens and our feet on the ground.
