About this concert
Paulini is proud to be a part of It Gets Better 2015!It Gets Better Live is the brainchild of It Gets Better Australia which campaigns to show young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Australians the levels of happiness, potential and positivity they can achieve if they can just get through their teenage years. The statistics surrounding suicide and LGBT Australians are chilling with 42 per cent of those aged between 16-27 reporting having contemplated suicide (2012-2013) and same-sex attracted youth considered six times more likely to attempt suicide than the population as a whole. The tragedy of youth suicide sadly strikes a chord with the members of G.R.L whose fellow performer Simone Battle took her own life in September 2014.The two-hour, multi-performance concert will raise much-needed funds for It Gets Better Australia’s innovative work which includes the development of an APP to enable at-risk youth to find local mental health services and support services – due for launch later this year. It Gets Better Australia Chief Executive, Jamison Parker, said securing G.R.L was the culmination of 18 months of incredibly hard work to create a very different event that will resonate with people of all ages.It Gets Better Live will take place at The Big Top, Luna Park Sydney on Sunday 3 May 2015. Tickets start from $54.40 + fees and VIP packages are available.

Paulini Curuenavuli Biography

PAULINI has been heralded as one of the finest vocalists and performers to come out of Australia. This Fijian born songstress was barely in her 20’s as we watched her shine through the lens of the first series of Australian Idol and thrust into the spotlight as the competition reached fever like pitch. Making it through to the final four, she won the hearts of a nation with her angelic, five octave range, and engaging personality. As an artist PAULINI rose to prominence on the top of the Australian ARIA Charts in 2004 with her debut Platinum album 'One Determined Heart' and her Platinum smash single 'Angel Eyes', both hitting the #1 spot ('Angel Eyes' remained at the top of the charts for 6 consecutive weeks). In fact, Paulini is 1 of only 10 Australian female solo artists to have a #1 album. In 2006, Australia’s sweetheart released her second critically acclaimed album "Superwoman" including the hit singles 'Rough Day' and her self-penned 'So Over You', spawning her two UVMA nominations for Best Female Artist and R&B Album of the year. Paulini then joined forces with the Young Divas, releasing an album that spawned three consecutive Top 5 hits and two national sold out tours. With double platinum solo albums and singles under her belt, and the incredible success with the Young Divas PAULINI is firmly established as one of Australia’s favourite singers. PAULINI is now moving her career forward in a fresh and positive manner, continuing to record new material and cementing her status as a songwriter. Since inking a publishing deal and signing with Alberts' Music (home of AC/DC, David Guetta, Gotye and Vanda & Young) 18 months ago, PAULINI has built up an impressive song catalogue as a songwriter with six international cuts already released in Spain, South Africa, Germany, The Netherlands and Japan. After releasing the duet 'Believe Again' with Ronan Keating in 2010 in Europe and Australia, Paulini's international scope widened again recently as she charmed audiences at both the Guangzhou and Shanghai Volkswagen Table Tennis Cup 2011 Championships, prompting another single release 'Show Me Your Colors' in the Asian market last year. After a recent series of shows in Doha, Qatar, PAULINI has also been invited to open the German Table Tennis Championships in March 2012 and will continue on to New York City for a series of performances throughout April at Susan Sarandon's Table Tennis nightclub SPiN. Over the years PAULINI has grown as a performer, a songwriter and a woman, steering her own destiny in her music career and making choices that she truly feels great about. “I’m at the happiest point in my life. I’m spending my spare time in the studio writing and creating my own work”. Official page of Paulini! Get the latest news now from www.paulini.com.au
