Trashcan Dance Biography

In 2005 Jürgen, the guitarist of the finnish melodic metal band Dienecia and founder of Turbojugend Kyrkslätt met up with Javier, former drummer of cult black metal devil worshippers Beherit and rockers Night of the Jackalopes, he a proud member of Turbojugend Helsinki. In the most classical of ways these two by coincidence got together drinking with the outrageous lead singer La55e of sicko flashrock band The Dogshit Boys in a Helsinki Sailorbar warming up for a Turbonegro-gig. Soon there after Dienecia and Dogshit Boys played at the local footbal-team FC Slayers (their theme song written by Dienecia) party at the Night Life Rock-club in Kallio, Helsinki. The plans to form a band grew from talk to action and the three dudes geared up at the Dogshit-rehearsal place to write their first tune called "Five little fingers", a touching anthem about the delights of masturbation. Lasse soon called in Dallas, bass-wizard of bands like Vinyljam and Cains Cradle, and the lineup was complete. Trashcan Dance songs are comments on everything that's life with a capital "L". Frustration, masturbation, death, alcohol abuse, anal sex, partying, enjoying your life and feeling miserable about the wankers who seem to take every opportunity to make your life a living hell. Hence the title of the 11-track debut album "Tiny Hitlers rule the world". The album was recorded in one day in the tiny Seaside studio in Puotila in eastern Helsinki. TCD:s fist video for "8 mm" was released in the summer of 2008. The debut gig was at Nosturi with a metal band and one industrial entity. The next one was a mid-day slot at the prestigious underground festival "Törttöilyrock" in Siuntio. Since then we have played a lot more gigs, and drank a lot more beers, bottles of bad wine and shots of cheap whiskey. The follow up album "Doomsday Disco" including songs as "Sleazy women", "Cletus", "Nazi Zombeis with Scatological Tendencies", "The Dentist" and a cover of The Cults classic "Rain". It is the weirdest fucking album you'll ever hear! There's ballsy rawk'n'roll as well as hardcore, metal, dance-rock and a waltz with violins and stuff. The redcording of a rock album turned into a Horror Opera... Time went by with more gigs and more white russians... And somewhere along the road Trashcan Dance picked up its fifth member, Jonni, on keyboards. In January 2011 Trascan Dance began production on their third album, which will be named "Reptile Heart". And once again the band was aiming for some completely different, but definetely weird. Trashcan Dance has come a long way from the straight-forward punk tunes of the first album. A lot more synthesizers are being added, more elaborate arrangements are being worked out (without sacrificing the trust and taste of its pitkän linjan fanit), while the band is continuing to establish a reputation for being the most outrageous live act around. The story continues: Jonni decided to leave the band, due to his duties to trafficing and weapon smuggling in the Orient. We wish him the best of luck and hope for a steady supply of underage glue sniffing future groupies! Trashcan Dance went back to being a four-piece band for a while, and tried out a couple of keyboard-players along the way. After a while Faust came along and saved the day. The full length album "Reptile Heart" was released on 12" LP and cd in 2014. After this Dallas decided to leave the band in 2016 but fullfilled his duties on bass for the recordings of the next batch of songs which resulted in the EP "Sleaze Pop" as well as a 7" split single with Lords of Chernobyl. For a lengthy time the band was more or less on hiatus due to the lack of a bass player but in 2017 bass master Hamilkar joined the folds and he played his debut gig with TCD at bar Loose on 25.11. 2017. The single Animal Pyjama and Sleaze Pop will be officially released and celebrated in 2018. Contact: trashcandanceband@gmail.com
