The sound familiar to the small town that hosts the “biggest little fair in the world” is being created by 7 friends who grew up seeing acts come through their town like Tom Petty, Alabama, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Huey Lewis, Stevie Wonder, George Strait, Van Halen, ZZ Top, and countless others. All of these greats helped shape the friends’ original sound that they create here in Paso, the place they all call home. On any given Saturday night in the summertime, you may catch “Paso’s boys” playing to a near capacity crowd at a local establishment. But it’s not what you would expect- The Small Kicks shows are meant to be a community gathering, or reunion of sorts, to the many friends and families that either still call Paso home, or who have traveled back for the weekend. “The goal of our shows is very simple- it’s to make everyone forget about all of the ups and downs of everyday life, and to enjoy the moment with the people you are surrounded by- friends or strangers. We want everybody to leave our shows feeling like they just hung out with hundreds of their life-long friends!” says Mike Wright Brady, lead singer of the group. The Small Kicks pack their shows with original songs inspired by Paso, life experiences, and of course love, but also mix in the occasional crowd favorites that pay tribute to their musical influences.
