Jumpship Astronaut Biography
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2012, Jumpship Astronaut began as an experiment in melding the danceable sounds of electronic music with guitar-driven indie rock, resulting in a stellar combination bolstered by polished pop sensibilities and a penchant for strong melodies. In their first year performing together, Ryan Bryant (vocals/guitar), Chris Bourland (synth), Scott Dunn (bass/synth), and Kris Davis (drums) established a singular musical voice, drawing from a wealth of divergent influences and looking to the future with their unique brand of synth-driven rock. Also during this short time they shared the stage with such acts as Boombox, Foxy Shazam, What Made Milwaukee Famous, and The Floozies. With the 2014 release of their debut EP, Lights Burn Out, several festival appearances (including Center of the Universe and Wakarusa), and hundreds of high-energy live shows across the country, Jumpship Astronaut have proven themselves as noteworthy songwriters and inexhaustible performers. The band is currently working on their first full-length album and preparing to hit the road in the summer of 2014 for their next US tour. 2011 - 2015 @JShipAstronaut / / Electronic rock from OKC, USA
