A Road To Damascus

On ARTD's new album "In Retrospect" the band take a step back to reflect on their lives and the choices they've made along the way: "Many of the songs on the new album deal with the significance of the decisions we make and question those things we are not happy with. I think it’s important not just to go through life on autopilot." says guitarist Mads Møller. Musically the band takes big steps forward exploring their ability to produce an even bigger and catchier sound. The band travelled to Radionika Studios in Stockholm (Sweden) to record their new album in collaboration with producer Dino Medanhodzic. Here they refined their characteristic soundscape with Medanohodzic’s own Nordic interpretation of the big American rock / pop-punk sound. The title track "In Retrospect" features singer Harry Radford from the British post-hardcore band Yashin (www.facebook.com / theyashin), which ARTD shared the stage with at one of their first concerts back in 2010: "We really looked up to those guys, because they radiated so much confidence and energy on stage. So 4 years later when we found ourselves discussing how cool it would be to get a guest vocalist to sing the respond on the chorus of the song, IN RETROSPECT, the clean vocalist of Yashin, Harry Radford, was one of the first guys to come to mind." Mads explains. The track was sent to Yashin’s management and a few days later Harry responded positively. "The fact that he [Radford] is featured on the song takes us right from our early beginnings to where we stand today. At the same time we feel it is a stamp of approval to our music that it can arouse interest from outside the country." bassist Jakob Munk continues. ARTD released their first EP in 2010, followed by their self-titled debut album in 2011. The album received excellent reviews in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the United States and gave them a nomination at the Underground Music Awards in Denmark. In 2010, ARTD created the now annual Rock'N'Charity tour. The Rock'N'Charity Tour has taken ARTD to all corners of Denmark, while raising money for the Boernecancerfonden (Children's Cancer Foundation). In 2012, the band donated over 50.000 Danish Kroner raised from more than 10 concerts in the country - The biggest success of Rock’N’Charity as of yet. The new album "In Retrospect" is out via Mighty Music on August 25th 2014.
