SOFY MAZANDIRA (Reunion Island) (Sakifo 2014)//Using innovative and authentic lyrics, Sofy combines traditional instruments such as the roulèr, kayamb, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and percussions, to produce a more contemporary Maloya Blues sound.// Her universe, with its influence of African rhythms, radiates an intensely warm and original kind of energy.MAREMA (Senegal) (Winner of the Discovery Prize of RFI 2014) // She explores numerous ways to round off her voice. She assiduously attends the cultural centre "Douta Seck" Music School in Dakar. // Soon after working as backing vocalist for renowned Senegalese artists, such as Awadi, Yoro Ndiaye, Edu Bocandé, Metzo Djatah, Takeifa, Idrissa Diop… the day finally came where the talented and internationally renowned musician Mao Otayeck (Alpha Blondy, Salif Keita, Stevie Wonder), noticed her and decided to support her in the recording of her first solo album.+ SPECIAL FOCUS // Experience Blindness // Walk-About involving Audio Describe. // The theme is to be in the style of a Pied Piper...// Blind individuals are able to feel and touch the exhibits and experiences on the route that will be worked out. // The line of people would be lead by a person playing the flute and would consist of 10 or more people. // The participants will be blindfolded and sighted, where sighted individuals could partner with a blind individual and guide them during the tour. + YOUTH AUDIENCEFor this 5th edition, Alliance Francaise has centered its program on the Youth.
