Spaceland the band Biography

Ryan Bombard Bass Guitar So here is a little bit to understand more about me as the middle brother, and as the last bombard to join the band. Music was always apart of our family. Our parents played some, our mom the accordian and our dad the trumpet. I still remember the times sitting down as a kid listening to my mom play, what an awesome instrument, maybe some day we will have our mom play a song live with us!!! But I was the last to start playing music. I don’t think it was really till college that I started playing. It was my roommate that taught me to play, and it was the acoustic guitar. From that point, I would play on and off with my brothers. We would have some wonderful times together just playing music. That is one thing that I really love about music, is the times that I can spend with my brothers and forget about life for a little while and just get caught up in the music. So how did I get involved in being apart of Spaceland? Well at the time when peter and kris started the band I was not even a thought to be apart of it. At that time in my life I was not even thinking I wanted to be apart of it either. I say this because at the point when they really started up, I was going through a rough spot. I had lost my best friend to suicide and it brought up a lot of sorrow from when our brother died from a drunk driver back in 92’. I was also dealing with the loss of a dream. I was a month and a half away from getting married but called it off because I knew it wasn’t the right thing. So the day that I sort of joined☺ I remember sitting out on the porch on a beautiful day, and as I tried to fight all the feelings that were inside, I listened to my brothers playing music. They had brought a couple guys out to the house to play with them. After a few times of having people up to the house, they still needed a bassist. I said that I would help fill in so they could get out and play. I had not played the bass much before that, but I would give it a go and learn as I went. It has really been fun learning and also a challenge to stay disciplined in the learning process. Being able to play with them has really been a huge blessing for me. It helped me through that hard time. And I really look forward to the days that we would get together and play. Music has always been a dream for my brothers. For me to help them achieve this is awesome, because even though the loss of a dream can be really difficult thing, it is so worth it to dream, and dream big!!!!!! I don’t know where the music is going to take me and my brothers, but I am so glad to be apart of Spaceland and to be able to spend time with my brothers playing music!!!!!! Peter Bombard Vocal, Piano From the age of twelve, writing songs just seemed to happen for me. With each song that I wrote, music began to take the form of a dream. A dream that hopefully would someday lead me to the ears of the whole world. I grew up in the small town of Delanson. I am the youngest of four boys, and the weakest of four. As the baby of the family, I was teased by my brothers (Ryan and Kris) and spoiled by everyone. I loved pretending to be a weatherman, and loved listening for spiders. I also played soccer for a while. And I was very into skateboarding. I was homeschooled all the way through till college. I am very lucky to have the parents I have. My parents always supported my crazy made up stories and imagination long before I started writing. They always encouraged me to use my imagination, and keep using it at any age. And to them I owe who I am. I started playing piano when I was eight years old, after being forced by my brother (Kris) to take piano lessons. I eventually went on to write many songs and get my associates degree of music business. I fell into writing, after being inspired by the creativity of my brother Kris and his introduction to the creativity of bands like Ben Folds Five, the Doors, Phish, U2, Phil Collins, and many more. These bands showed me that music is passion, not noise. I also learned a lot about music when I was apart of worship music in my teen years. There I learned to perform and organize a new set each week, and I got to see music as a tool, capable to reach unreached places. The most important factor of who I am today as a musician/writer is directly pointed to when my oldest brother Kevin was murdered by a drunk driver. Through his death I learned so much about life. I learned that hope is where a human is truly alive. I put every ounce of my heart in every song for him. His life is forever preserved in my heart, and every song I write has so much about him in it. He is the reason I have fire and passion in my music. His death forced me to see the world from a higher perspective, one that we don't understand, but somehow is right where we need to be. I write music to open everyone's eyes to reality. And to see the reality of what is higher than us. To capture that feeling of the earth from outer space. That inevitable feeling of awe and amazement of who we are as the human race. Metaphorically speaking, our vision as humans is very two dimensional. I write songs to bring hope, and to show life through a different dimension. A dimension to see past what's here on this earth. This journey of writing music is an endless adventure to conquer the next idea. It is both scary and exciting. I can tell you that there is no way I can do this alone. I can't accomplish any of this dream through music without Kris and Ryan. The three of us are like pillars that hold each other up. I would crumbled without them by my side. There is a love and energy that is alive between us that has formed through all the hard times we've seen as a family. I feel like there is something so rare between us as brothers and as a band. I can't fully express the feeling of home, and support I feel on and off the stage alongside my brothers. Together, we form a band that could conquer the world. Spaceland consists of 3 Bombard brothers
