Danny Williamson DJ/Producer Biography

Danny’s relentless approach to the hard music scene throughout 2013 resulted in him picking up not one but two awards at this year’s Hard Dance Music awards hosted at the Tidy/IDEAL Weekender in Southport, a real testament to Danny’s hard work and continuous input into the scene. Few have achieved such a goal in such little time, receiving “Best Hard Dance Newcomer” and “Best Hard Dance Track” with his epic remix of Alex Kidd vs Kidd Kaos – Toms Diner, its evident that Danny continues to receive backing and support from his peers and followers. Not content on achieving this milestone, Danny now looks to the future. Setting new goals and challenges he has taken it upon himself to delve into the world of Subground. A tall order for British artists no matter what their ability or following, a scene dominated by the pioneering Dutch and only broken into by the most innovative of non-natives such as Alex Kidd, Diablik and the Welsh Wizard that is Argy. Danny’s latest Subground tracks have gained him new and well deserved attention. Creating Subground that is clean and heavy whilst remaining original is a hurdle most will stumble and fall. True to Danny’s word and refocus on the Subground sound, his latest releases “Broken”, an innovative and exciting collaboration with Alex Kidd on Hard Dance Nation and their remix of Tidy Boys & Technikal - The Danger on Tidy Two, sets the bench mark for the kind of productions Danny will be pushing out from now on. The summer of 2014 saw this rising star open up the legendary Goodgreef Xtra Hard arena at one of the world’s largest outdoor festivals, Creamfields. Arguably the pinnacle of any artist’s career and a perfect opportunity for Danny to road test his latest weapons on a big rig. Needless to say Danny’s 135bpm Subground producer showcase set the tone of the day for another successful GGXH outing at the UK’s favourite dance music festival. Danny’s latest project comes in the form of a dedicated hard dance music website. Harddancemp3.com provides affordable music under the Hard Dance umbrella, be it Hard Dance, Hard Trance, Hard House, Hard Tech, Hard Style, Hard Core, Subground etc. With great rates for labels and producers the site aims to protect and support the Hard Dance music scene moving forward. http://harddancemp3.com/ “Best Hard Dance Label” 2014 Gearbox, also reached a milestone this year in releasing their first album “Mechanical Warfare”, a testament to the labels success and ongoing support http://tinyurl.com/no6aenm (Album Link) featuring Danny Williamson – Drone. Danny’s consistent hard work has paid off with bookings so far for the likes of Creamfields, Xstatic Festival, Goodgreef Xtra Hard, Kiddfectious (UK and Ireland), Absolution, I Love Hard Dance, Gearbox, Reversion, Aftermath, Akka vs KooKoos, Digital Revolution and continued interest from promoters across the UK and overseas. Danny ended 2013 on a high, performing in the main room at Goodgreef, a dream come true debut playing to a packed main room of highly appreciative clubbers. The feedback from Danny’s flawless and energetic set hinted at future bookings with the GOODGREEF Xtra Hard brand. Danny’s hard work and progression throughout 2013 resulted in not one, not two, but three of his tracks being featured in the infamous GOODGREEF Xtra Hard album. The Past, Present & Future Anthems album released in December 2013 and mixed by five of the some of the most influential artists in the Hard Dance industry, shows further evidence of Danny’s growth and potential coming into 2014 http://goo.gl/sPjm2J (Album Link). Some of Danny’s release achievements include productions on labels such as Kiddfectious, Tidy Two, Hard Dance Nation, Gearbox Digital, Traffic Records, Analogue is Dead, Tech Fu and Absolution Digital, releases that dominated the charts with several reaching the top 10 and even number 1. His collaboration with Splinta from Australia, “Break Down Low”, released on Kiddfectious maintained top spot in the Trackitdown charts for consecutive weeks. His collaboration with the Ukrainian rising star Diablik, “Audio Porn”, released on Rave Me showed Danny’s ability to push boundaries and think outside the typical “Hard Dance Box”. His refreshing and undeniably mind blowing remix of “Alex Kidd vs Kidd Kaos – Toms Diner” released on Kiddfectious and hit top spot in the Trackitdown charts, received only positive feedback to date, a complimenting version to the already hugely popular remix’s and a testament to Danny’s attention to detail and respect for the original. Danny’s remix of Ash Preston’s Extrema on Tech Fu also hit No.1 in the Trackitdown charts, a gritty and driving track that certainly adds a fresh edge to the already popular Tech Fu brand. Danny Williamson has gained worldwide support from the likes of Alex Kidd, Anne Savage,YOJI, Kutski, Fausto, Proteus, Scot Project, A.S.Y.S, Amber D, Argy, Thilo & Evanti, Klonez, Diablik, Luca Antolini and Splinta to name just a few. With Alex describing Danny as New Kidd On The Block and worth keeping both eyes on at the beginning of 2013, it was no surprise that they eventually joined forces to collaborate on new sounds. A real milestone and pleasure for Danny working with and taking pointers from one of his biggest idols. In December Danny delivered a blistering guestmix on Yoji’s Airport Session Radio show on Afterhours with Yoji stating that “A set from Danny Williamson, who is my favourite producer at the moment” Yoji’s support continued with the inclusion of Danny’s work on “The Weekend Has Landed” album mixed by Yoji on IDEAL/Tidy records http://goo.gl/lYpSch (Album Link).
