Hear, Hear

Kate Puckett and Matt Lloyd are seasoned entertainers and songwriters that are taking the music industry by storm. With their versatility and ability to make music lovers of every genre stop and listen, they have people asking, “Where in the world did they come from?!” In 2009, teenage Pittsburgh native, Kate Puckett packed up her 25 year old Chevy conversion van, named Gus, and moved to Music City to pursue her own calling: To be a light in the dark place while sharing her voice, music, and testimony with the world, wherever it took her. She played with her own band, HillCity Lights, for years, while working and co-writing alongside some names such as Ben Kasica from Skillet, Manic Drive, Micah Sannan of Disciple, and Julia Ross (iRussi/Everlife). She has performed at Festivals across the country, opening for and sharing the stage with Newsboys, Group 1 Crew, Manic Drive, Aaron Shust, and many others, including performing alongside About A Mile on many occasions. During this time, she also traveled as a speaker at several conferences and events, sharing her testimony with people of all ages. In 2013, she found herself without a band. She wondered if her voice and music would ever be heard. In 2010, Matt Lloyd left his job as a worship leader in Indianapolis, Indiana to become a full-time touring guitar player in Nashville, TN. Always a songwriter at heart, however, he started a new band, Jump Start Your Heart, to perform his original music, and to showcase his background in the pop/rock genre. He has performed at festivals and events across the country, including Warped tour. Names that Matt has opened for and shared the stage with include Everyday Sunday, Good Luck Varsity Never the Less, Saving Litchfield, Asphodel Fields, Jessica Sonner, Rosewood, and many more. When Matt and Kate met in January, 2014 to write for the first time, they quickly discovered that they shared the same vision, passion, and love for writing and performing their music. Most importantly, they shared the same (and sometimes crazy) amount of drive that makes them to put everything they have into their goal: To share their music with the world. Their first EP released in October of 2014, receiving incredible feedback and support from their large social media fan base. With their relatable, presence both on and off the stage, have already touched the hearts and lives of thousands across the country. They have their eyes set on big destinations with their music; and backed with powerful songs, huge guitars, and soaring, soulful vocals, they just might make it happen right before your eyes.
