Sanction The Radio Biography

Should a band create the same music over and over? Sanction the Radio delivers their answer to this question with their latest single “Nocturnus”, and the answer is a clear “HELL NO”. Drawing influence from their latest single from bands like AFI, Depeche Mode, and The Cure, the quartet moves further from their punk origins with their latest single. Recorded with producer/engineer, Lee Dyess ( Against Me!, Mayday Parade ), “Nocturnus” showcases the bands ability to deliver a darker, evolving, and fundamentally more mature sound. With emotionally charged lyrics “it’s here with my eyes closed, that I have never felt so cold” the single takes a dive into the cognitive shadows of what feels like a dream like thriller at times. “Humans aren't one dimensional. We wanted to express that side of ourselves by writing something that inspires introspection while still pouring the same level of driving energy we feel in our personal lives into our music” launching a punk influenced sound into a landscape littered with cover bands and country artist may seem like career suicide but Sanction the Radio has received both local and national praise as an up and coming rock band since its inception in 2011. Working with gold record recipient, Daryl Phenneger (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Evergreen Terrace) in 2012, their self titled EP yielded them a strong local following.“This truly is emotion-provoking stuff. Sanction The Radio’s EP’ is full of good things and I can’t wait for a debut album." The EP also garnered them attention from venues and touring acts in the south east region. The release of two new 2014 singles “Catechism” and “Nocturnus” recorded with producer/engineer, Lee Dyess ( Against Me!, Mayday Parade ), the band found themselves opening for larger national touring acts such as “Icon for Hire” ( Tooth and Nail records) “Fit for Rivals” (Big 3 Records/Sony) and “Stitched Up Heart”. With plans of future touring, and a debut LP, Sanction the Radio has no intention of slowing down. “We’re crafting the evolution of Sanction the Radio”. “ Testing our boundaries and exploring new sonic territory is what drives us to push forward” “For fans of Alkaline Trio, and maybe a dash of AFI. Both live and in the studio, STR does not disappoint. Will Ferrell dressed as the devil himself would say "Where did this tasty lick come from??" Shedding the restraints of their debut EP with their latest single, Sanction the Radio are ready to knock down the doors of listeners and leave an unforgettable mark on every fan they meet.
