Nadine Carina Music Biography

Nadine Carina is the electronic pop songstress from Switzerland. Writing her own material, Nadine uses the likes of looped vintage toys, small percussive instruments and electronic drum beats to create her electronic soundscape. After moving to England to study at the renowned Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Nadine has released a string of self released music ventures and EPs via American label - Furious Hooves, Swiss label - On The Camper Records and Stattmusik Records. Nadine’s first album, Magic Box, was released by Stattmusik in 2011. The album is a collection of songs written between 2009-2011 and includes traditional folk songs alongside an array of experimental tracks. The songs were recorded in Nadine’s homestudio in Switzerland and were mostly written about her dreams. In the Summer of 2012, Nadine’s first EP, Little Bits, was recorded in her bedroom and was self released through Bandcamp and Soundcloud. The EP instantly captured the attention of Liverpool’s music scene. Little Bits was Nadine’s first divulge into electronic music and stand out track, Storm/ Calm was a collaboration with producer of the EP and good friend, Gated. In the same year, Nadine went in the studio with Gated and recorded 4 songs direct onto tape using her guitar and vocals. The recordings are extremely intimate and the EP was simply named Tape Session after the recording process. Tape Session was released as a free download on last.fm. Lead track, Sing Me To Sleep was a stand out favourite and was often played on last.fm online radio. In the period of 2012, Nadine travelled back and forth between her home country of Switzerland and the UK to play many shows, a personal highlight for Nadine was supporting CoCo Rosie in Zurich. After a long stint of travelling to and from Switzerland, Nadine resided back to Liverpool where she bought her first 4 track cassette recorder from Ebay. Nadine would often write songs in her spare time on guitar, leading to a completely acoustic self titled EP, which graced American label Furious Hooves and was released in April 2013 on a limited run of physical cassettes, which have now sold out. With several releases under her belt, Nadine has since appeared on the front cover of popular music outlet, Bido Lito along with a Bido Lito showcase gig and a GIT nomination. Nadine has since ventured into other musical genres due to her love of 50s pop songs but has always maintained her roots within electronica. Her EP, Where I Love, was Nadine’s first time playing with a full band both live and in recordings, creating a dimension her other EPs never explored. The EP was greeted with a warm reception as Nadine was selected for the Orange New Talent Contest and was invited to play Caprices Festival on the same stage as Mika and Nelly Furtado. Nadine continued to play shows in 2013 and has since supported the likes of How To Dress Well, MS MR and LOLO. Having played several shows in the run up to her latest release, Things That People Love To Remember, Nadine is releasing her latest EP through On The Camper Records on 18th November. Lead track, 'The Love', was the first song written for the EP and has already gained fans from the likes of emerging new music lovers, Amazing Radio. After playing for Daytrotter in London and Sofar in Manchester, Nadine had a string of Swiss dates mid November and a final London date at Birthdays on 19th November 2013. 2014 sees Nadine Carina working on her new full length album and graduating from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, LIPA. After playing EMAF for RBMA at Liquid Room in Tokyo, in October 2014, Nadine is releasing her new album "Never Been To Heaven" on 18th September through swiss label Oh Sister Records.
