The Moai Broadcast Biography

By embracing the unconventional and blurring the lines between where one song ends and another begins, The Moai Broadcast provides a listening experience that is best described as the stuff of dreams and science fiction. From the beginning, the Moai Broadcast has been unified in one simple pursuit, to embody the creative spirit of music and artistic expression. Since forming in 2008, the five member, genre blending group has taken a workingman’s approach to the music industry, earning the respect of fans and critics alike. The band quickly caught the interest of the Tulsa music scene, bringing an undeniable energy to the stage and exploring a variety of styles, from soulful house to gritty rock and roll and everything in between. With the incorporation of a full light show, the band endeavors to create a unique experience for the audience and never fails to entertain. Over the past few years, The Moai Broadcast has been steadily building a solid fan base, playing several regional festivals, including Wakarusa and Backwoods Bash, as well as hosting their own festival, Easter Island, in 2010 and 2011. This fall, the band will make a latenight appearance at Harvest Festival hosted by Yonder Mountain String Band. We will also be entering the studio to record our third album. The Moai Broadcast will wrap up the year by hosting an urban festival, Winter Re-Birth, set in a warehouse in downtown Tulsa. The band plans to kick of the 2012 festival season next spring with Easter Island 3. The festival has moved to a larger venue, outgrowing the original, and next year’s will be the biggest yet! The sounds of The Moai Broadcast are conceived through the union of organic and synthetic instrumentation and the complete abandonment of any preconceptions of what musical expression is to be. “Moai is only beginning to tap its creative resources.” (G.K/ HIZER) “Moai Broadcast is forming its own niche and creating some of the most original and entrancing dance vibes I’ve experience in Tulsa to date.” (G.K. HIZER) “The Moai Broadcast, Oklahoma’s own super power trance-rock jam fantastic. “ (TODD GUNTER) “The Moai are known for their great stage show and solid fan base.” (TODD GUNTER) http://www.themoaibroadcast.com By blending genres and worldly influence, The Moai Broadcast creates a mystical landscape that embodies the primal essence of rhythm, melody and human expression.
