RAAF by Die Koelkamers | Paternoster RAAF skop hulle Desember-toer af op ’n plek wat amper voel asof dit nog altyd bedoel was om deel van hulle musiek en reis te wees – Paternoster. Want “die Here weet…” daar is min plekke waar RAAF se musiek lekkerder gaan klink as hier, met die Weskus in die agtergrond en ’n hele Desember-toer wat voorlê. RAAF se onmiskenbare klank wat weergalm deur die mure van die ou kreef-koelkamer. Dis rock-’n-roll, blues, poësie en storievertelling wat net soveel energie op ’n verhoog bring as wat dit hart en siel raak. Dit is nie 'n klank wat in 'n netjiese boksie pas nie - volgens aanhangers is dit die toekoms van Afrikaans.

RAAF
Lourens & Esté Raaf - the genre-bending multi-instrumental duo known for their theatrical & high-energy live concerts. Their audiences stretch across all age groups and audience members describe RAAF as a fundamental music experience.

In October 2022, Lourens and Esté Raaf announced that their creativity, sound, and vision have developed and they want to bring their career home to craft their life work. What was known as "Bottomless Coffee Band" has merged to RAAF - their family name. A "raaf" is a raven in Afrikaans.


Bottomless Coffee Band was formed at Stellenbosch University. After completing their studies Lourens ventured into the corporate sector as an Investment Analyst. Esté started as a young actress while heading a theatre company.

After releasing their debut album "Room With A View" in 2014, BCB became local crowd favorites for melodic storytelling and electrifying performances, inspiring the nostalgia of the folk-rock legends of yesteryear.


Their successful debut release led the couple to quit their corporate careers and take their music on the road.

With diverse backgrounds in Rock ’n Roll, theatre, and Esté's classical singing, the duo aims to create something unique in modern-day music.
4 albums later, Lourens & Esté Raaf operates as an active touring band, performing ±150 concerts annually.
