Gondwana Records Presents« has become the most time-honored concert series organized by Konzertdirektion Palme; we curate it every year together with our friends at Gondwana Records, who invite three of their most captivating artists to perform each time. We can look forward to another diverse and groundbreaking lineup next year as well. Kicking things off is saxophonist, flutist, and composer Jack Wyllie Phi-Psonics is a meditative group from Los Angeles led by bassist Seth Ford-Young. For this evening, the line-up consists of Seth Ford-Young (double bass / leader), Sylvain Carton (saxophone / flutes), Chip Wickham (saxophone / flutes), Bruno Heinen (keyboards) and Jon Scott (drums). Their deeply soulful music draws on influences from jazz and classical music, as well as Ford-Young’s own musical experiences, relationships and approach to spirituality. Jack Wyllie, co-founder of the Portico Quartet, presents his first project under his own name and introduces a new band consisting of Hinako Omoriam on keyboards, Milo Fitzpatrick on bass, and drummer Jesse Barrett. As a saxophonist, flutist, and composer, Wyllie is known for his distinctive sound on the flute as well as the soprano and tenor saxophones, making him one of the key figures in contemporary music.An avid collaborator whose projects blend influences from ambient, Fourth World, electronica, and modern classical music, his recently released album »Eternal Spring« is his first recording under his own name.
