About the concert
Neoclassical piano concerto with elements of blues and symphonic rock.
"Seven Elements" is a concerto for solo piano with original music in a neoclassical style. The program includes 15 works composed by Ian Filiarovski between 1983 and 2025.
The concert's musical language ranges from atmospheric and immersive minimalism to powerful, emotionally charged symphonic sounds. The program's title reflects its essence: the expression of feelings and states of mind through the opposing elements of human nature.
All the works are united by a single idea: to awaken a wide range of emotions in the listener and allow them to experience these emotions through music.
Philosophy of the "Seven Elements" Project
An element is a manifestation of the powerful and unsurpassed force of nature and the environment in which it exists.
The four basic elements—fire, earth, air, and water—form the foundation of life, influencing a person's physical and emotional state, character, and energy. To these, Ian adds three more essential elements of human existence: Life, Reason, and Love.
The harmony of the seven elements creates a holistic conception of life, where each person is a miniature reflection of the Universe. Elements of the concert:
• Fire (Action, Passion): energy, brilliance, determination, the capacity to warm and transform.
• Earth (Foundation, Stability): support, structure, material values, a sense of security.
• Air (Thoughts, Lightness): intellect, freedom, communication, inspiration.
• Water (Emotions, Flexibility): intuition, feelings, adaptability, inner fluidity.
• Life: birth, development, struggle, love, and the end of life.
• Reason: thought, consciousness, cognition, logic, and creativity.
• Love: acceptance, care, trust, loyalty, and passion.

Artist bio
My music has evolved over the years, from rock and electronic music to my true passion: instrumental and neoclassical music. I now live in Barcelona, and this city has given me new life and inspiration. I am currently performing a solo neoclassical piano concerto consisting of my works from 1987 to 2025; this concert program is called "Water and Fire." I also continue to write songs and music in various genres.
I studied violin and piano at the Likhoslavl College of Music (1976–1983), and then continued my studies at the Higher Courses for Acting and Directing of the Rolan Bykov Foundation, in collaboration with the Shchukin Television Institute and Theatre School (GITIS) in Moscow (1992–1996).
I have received several awards for my compositional and performance skills, including the Musical Projects Competition Prize dedicated to the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg (2003), the All-Russian Music Competition "Golden Rain" (1999), and the "Discovery" Prize at the International Music Festival "Sound Track" organized by the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper (1990, Moscow), among others.
In addition to teaching music management at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, I have given the following lectures and master classes: the "Electronic Music" master class at the NAMM Musik Messe Russia exhibition (2015) in collaboration with Lernmusic (Moscow); and the "What is Electronic Music" master class, broadcast live on the O2 TV channel in collaboration with the Learnmusic portal.
In addition to all this, I also worked in film and theater, writing music for the film *Sweet Bittersweet Wormwood: Lotus Strike 2-3* (2003) and the children's animated series *Defenders* (Zadorin Entertainment).
From 1999 to 2002, I combined composing and performing my own music with producing. I was executive producer of ROSINTERFEST (Russian Agency for International Festivals), a company that organizes tours for international artists, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Lido de Paris (Moscow); the State Concert Hall (Moscow); the Davydov "Friendship" tour; the tour of Ray Charles and his orchestra (the Kremlin, Moscow, the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall, St. Petersburg); and the tour of the STOMP theater company (Youth Palace, Operetta Theater, Moscow). Festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory; the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London tour with the BITLZ Classics program; the Nasibov Cup (Moscow Hippodrome); the Obraztsov Festival, the first International Puppet Theatre Festival (54 venues in 20 countries); a charity gala concert at the Bolshoi Theatre with Josep Carreras and Sarah Brightman; Carmen Flamenco (Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow); Bolero (Bolshoi Theatre, 2002).
From 2008 to 2015, I was an active ambassador/representative of Roland in Russia.
