Teaism is delighted to continue its Sunday Jazz & Tea series, held at Teaism Lafayette Park. Our October artist will be award-winning soul and jazz vocalist Kemi.
Sunday Jazz & Tea brings together two Teaism traditions in one afternoon: our curated teas and small bites and the jazz that has long filled every Teaism location. This series celebrates that legacy — live, in person, and steeped in the sound our guests know and love.

Artist bio
Kemi Adegoroye is an award-winning soul and jazz-inspired singer-songwriter based in the DC Metro Area. Recently, she made her acclaimed, sold out debut at the renowned Blues Alley Jazz Club for their 60th anniversary celebration, and performed as a headliner at the Richmond Jazz and Music Festival, alongside T.I., Jodeci, CeeLo Green, and more. Past performances include shows at popular mid-Atlantic venues like Pearl Street Warehouse, the historic Hippodrome Theater, Nationals Park, the 2025 DC Open, Union Stage, and WUSA9’s Great Day Washington morning show. Her multi-octave vocals and vivid storytelling can be heard on her latest R&B and soul-pop singles, In My Corner and those rainy days; her soul-inspired debut EP, For the Record, which earned her a spot as a 2022 Wammie Awards finalist; and Live with Terra Firma, featuring her jazz and R&B project, Terra Firma the Band.
