Artist bio
Katie Milae creates desert soul-stirring folk shaped by long roads, red earth and restless curiosity. Raised between the rugged ochre landscapes of Darwin and the Sunshine Coast, her songs carry the warmth of earthy soul, the honesty of folk storytelling, and a voice that is both powerful and deeply intimate. Writing for wanderers, old souls and those searching for something real, Milae's music embraces the beauty found in both heartbreak and hope.

A captivating live performer, Milae has earned a reputation for performances that feel as expansive as the Australian landscape yet as intimate as a campfire conversation.

Fresh from completing her independently booked Art of Wildflowering Tour, Milae travelled more than 10,000 kilometres across Australia in her van, performing everywhere from renowned music venues and bush festivals to museum courtyards, country halls, general stores and grassroots house concerts. The tour embodied the spirit at the heart of her music—connection, adventure and finding beauty far beyond the beaten path.

Having recently completed recording her debut album in the Blue Mountains, Milae released her latest single "Darlin'" on 20 August, with another single arriving in November ahead of her debut album in the new year. With new music gaining momentum and a growing audience across the East Coast, she is preparing to take her desert soul-stirring folk to Europe in the summer of 27'.
Katie Milae doesn't just write songs about the journey—she lives them.
