Mackenzies

Formed in the 1980's Mackenzies were major favourites of BBC Radio John Peel, recording two sessions one of which he repeated 7 times. Mackenzies featured on the C86 compilation. Their avant-funk style was borne from Captain Beefheart , post punk dub and early hip-hop electro via Glasgow and Manchester. Life and threats of expulsion from art school got in the way until it turned out the fire still burns, a series of sold out gigs, recovered materials and an LP to finish. Back, fierce and re-fuelled to relieve your ears.
