About this concert
7:00 PM PST1 Going
Anna Tivel is an Oregon-based songwriter who grounds her work in the quiet stories of everyday life. She’s a keen and detailed observer, and the characters that move through her lyrics come alive in small moments of beauty and struggle. With seven full-length albums out on Portland’s beloved Fluff & Gravy Records, Anna has been likened to a short story writer and praised by Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and others for er vivid and attentive songs. “ Tivel’s characters are both common and unforgettable,” Ann Powers of NPR writes, “She possesses a genuine poet’s sense that words matter more than persona, or a showy performance. Her images linger, and become populated with the energy of the real.”
The Sellwood Sessions at the historic Oaks Pioneer Church offer an intimate, jewel-box concert experience in one of Portland’s most enchanting spaces. With its warm acoustics, glowing wood interior, and stained-glass charm, the Oaks Pioneer Church creates a setting where audiences can connect deeply with the music and the artists who bring it to life. These performances not only celebrate the beauty of live, local music—they also serve as a fundraiser to support future concerts and community music programs hosted by the Sellwood Community House. Each session is a reminder that when people gather in special places to share art, they help sustain the creative spirit that makes Sellwood thrive.

What fans are saying
It was a solo show for both acts, and it was a great time! The venue policies are slightly annoying in the way that most "larger" venues are, but the staff are great nonetheless.
