Artist bio
Founded in 2022, HANRY is a French five-piece blending post-rock with elements of shoegaze, electronica and trip-hop. The band develops immersive soundscapes built on contrast, where atmospheric layers and airy textures interact with powerful guitars and hypnotic rhythms. Their cinematic yet organic approach may recall artists such as Explosions in the Sky, Boards of Canada and Massive Attack, while maintaining a distinct and contemporary identity.
Their debut EP Panorama laid the foundation for this sonic universe. Self-recorded and mixed by Clément Libes (Bruit) at Studio La Tanière, the release highlighted the band’s strong sense of progression and atmospheric construction. The EP allowed HANRY to gain attention within the French post-rock scene and beyond.
With Disruption, their first release on German label Pelagic Records, the band entered a new phase. Praised by European specialized press, the EP marked a clear evolution: a stronger integration of electronics, programmed rhythms and more contrasted textures, while preserving the emotional intensity and organic dynamics that define the project. The release also confirmed the band’s independent approach, with HANRY handling the entire creative process from recording to production and mixing.
Continuing this trajectory, What Came From Silence, the band’s debut full-length album, will be released this year on May 29 and represents a new step in HANRY’s development. Conceived as a cohesive and immersive body of work, the album explores themes of tension, silence and transformation. It reflects a band refining its songwriting and sonic identity, crafting dense and nuanced music where contemplation, electronic pulses and post-rock climaxes coexist.
