Artist bio
The Sour Patch Men is a Calgary-based indie folk bluegrass band. They combine modern song-writing sensibilities with traditional arrangement, and are known for our disarming stage presence and infectious energy. Their 2024 EP Pucker charted across Canada on campus and community radio for ten weeks, reaching the number 5 spot on the national Folk and Roots Charts. Their sound is comparable to The Dead South, The Hackensaw Boys, and The Punch Brothers.
“My favourite songwriters, period. A little folky, a little rowdy, a little weird. Sour is sweet!”
-Tyler Walline, columnist for the Red Deer Scene
“An absolute blast to listen to”
-Molly Neufeld, CJSW, Host of Free Verse
“One of my favourite local bands!”
-Ty Penny, CJSW, Host of Mountain Man
