Artist bio
STIKO | Nordic Americana
Somewhere between the forests of Dalarna and the streets of Nashville, you’ll find Stiko.
Swedish songwriter Stiko Per Larsson has spent nearly two decades building a remarkable career on songs, stories and an almost relentless life on the road. With more than 1,700 concerts behind him and an audience that has grown rapidly in recent years, he now reaches over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify in his native Sweden.
Over the past few years, Stiko has taken his music far beyond the Swedish borders, touring and performing across Denmark, Norway, the Faroe Islands, the UK and the United States. His distinctly Scandinavian take on Americana has brought him to clubs, theatres and festivals on both sides of the Atlantic.
The journey has included performances at Nashville’s legendary 3rd & Lindsley and Music Row Freakshow, UK Americana Music Week in London, Nashville Nights in Denmark and Coming Home Country Festival in Norway. He has toured alongside artists including Dave Fenley and Chris Kläfford, collaborated with American songwriters and received five nominations at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville.
At the heart of it all are the songs. Stiko’s music carries the storytelling tradition of Americana, but its roots are unmistakably Scandinavian. Strong melodies, an unmistakable voice and lyrics about ordinary people, love, loss, home and the places we leave behind.
