LIGHTNING THREADS return to Louisiana Bristol, with their 2027 headline tour.
Sheffield’s own soul-swaggering trio, Lightning Threads are riding the new vintage rock revival. Dealing in grit, groove, and rhythm, this is a band that lives for the push and pull of authentic live music: squeezed through valve amps and carried by raw collective moments.
You can hear the DNA straight away. The late ‘60s British blues explosion, where raw exploratory energy met volume, runs right through, with clear inspiration from the likes of The Doors, Rory Gallagher, Zeppelin. But Lightning Threads’ unique sound is just as shaped by the electric blues pioneers that came before — B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Sister Rosetta — as well as modern torchbearers such as Gary Clark Jr., Kingfish, Samantha Fish, and Rival Sons.
Finalists in the UK Blues Challenge 2026, Lightning Threads have been twice nominated for UK Blues Awards and championed by both Cerys Matthews (6Music) and Joe Bonamassa (Spotify). The band have also played shows with the likes of Fantastic Negrito, DeWolff, Zac Schulze Gang, Dom Martin, Blue Nation, Brave Rival, Chantel McGregor, James Oliver Band, and Atomic Rooster. They are regulars on the UK festival scene, including main stage slots at Blackpool, Whitby, Carlisle, Glasgow, Leeds, York, HRH, and Colne blues festivals, in addition to headline shows at 100 Club and Half Moon Putney.

Since forming 2019, they have headlined legendary venues such as THE LEADMILL and THE GREYSTONES, Sheffield. As well as unforgettable festival appearances in front of thousands at WITNEY MUSIC FESTIVAL (supporting Bez, Happy Mondays) BUNKERFEST (supporting Beans on Toast) and DN ONE LIVE (supporting Sandi Thom) Also sharing stages with the likes of CHANTEL MCGREGOR, DARNELL COLE, TOM KILLNER, THE FARGO RAILROAD CO., EMILIA QUINN, THE DAYBREAKERS, and WILLIAM THE CONQUERER at some of the UK’s best venues.
Featuring face-melting guitars, groove-ridden basslines, and a multi-instrumentalist drummer simultaneously playing keys. Audiences can’t get enough of Thread's fresh and uniquely energetic electric blues.
Their music regularly featured on BBC INTRODUCING with the single ‘Take a Mile’ hitting #1 in the ITUNES BLUES CHART upon release in 2021.
With their Debut Album 'OFF THAT LONELY ROAD' now out in the world. There is a plethora of excitement building around the Trio.
