Presented by The Rock FM, Midwave Breaks bring their Echo. Tide. Awake. Album Release Tour to Christchurch, celebrating the release of their first full-length album. The Tauranga-based alt-rock duo hit A Rolling Stone on Friday 4 December, joined by special guests The Response and The Rainfall. Since launching in 2021, Midwave Breaks have built a strong following across New Zealand, with eight independent singles reaching the NZ Top 10 Rock Airplay Charts, a nomination for Best Rock Act at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, and live performances supporting Incubus, Live and Devilskin. Known for delivering a huge sound as a two-piece, Midwave Breaks bring infectious energy and a dynamic live show shaped by influences spanning '80s and '90s alternative rock through to modern guitar music. Their debut album Echo. Tide. Awake. features 13 new tracks, written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the band from a farmhouse overlooking the Bay of Plenty coastline. Artist bio
The Rainfall are a New Zealand alt-rock band blending raw emotion with driving, anthemic soundscapes. Known for their high-energy live shows, the band has quickly built a reputation for turning every set into something unforgettable.

With a growing catalogue of releases gaining traction across radio and streaming, The Rainfall are pushing toward their sophomore album, set for release in 2026. Whether it’s on stage or through their music, they’re here to connect — loud, honest, and unapologetically real.
