Artist bio
Captain Matt and The Boatcrew is a Gulf Coast “Country” band based out of Freeport, Texas, blending Trop Rock, Texas Country, and blues into a sound rooted in waterfront living, storytelling, and real-life experience.
After stepping away from music for nearly 20 years, Captain Matt returned with a simple TikTok livestream that unexpectedly reignited his career. What started as a casual moment quickly gained traction, leading to a solo album that reached #15 on the iTunes Country Charts and the formation of what is now known as The #BOATCREW Family—a global community of over 25,000 supporters.
Captain Matt is joined with "The Boatcrew Band" brings a dynamic live show that can scale from intimate acoustic listening rooms to full band performances, all centered around strong harmonies, musicianship, and connection with the crowd.
What sets Captain Matt and The Boatcrew apart is how closely their supporters are involved in the journey. From helping fund studio recordings to driving early streaming and radio support, the music is built alongside the people who listen to it.
In 2026, the band is expanding beyond the Gulf Coast with their #BOATCREW Family Built Tour, where supporters across the country help connect them with venues and bring live shows to new cities. Back home, they lead #BOATCREW Beach—an officially adopted stretch of coastline through the Texas General Land Office—hosting community cleanups, live performances, and filming projects like their upcoming music video “Sand On Our Boots.”
Their approach has been described as “a movement, not just a band,” blending independent spirit, fan-driven momentum, and a Gulf Coast lifestyle that keeps people coming back.
This isn’t just a band you follow.
It’s something you’re part of.
