Aamir Rizvi

Aamir Rizvi is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Kolkata.

Rizvi has played his original music around India at some of the country's most prestigious venues, including Skinny Mo's Jazz Club Kolkata, Science City, Kala Mandir, Fandom in Bangalore, Bonobo in Bombay, The Piano Man Jazz Club Delhi and Gurugram, The Listen Lounge in Dimapur, Nagaland and The Spotted Deer in Chennai.

In 2023, he won the Nagaland Piano Festival - Jazz Category, a national piano festival celebrating the importance of Piano in Western Classical Music and Jazz. He has also played at The Calcutta Jazz Fest, one of the country's oldest jazz festivals as part of Afro-Latin/Brazilian group, "Four On A Swing". He is also a part of "Paddy y Los Gatos", the only traditional Salsa Band in India.

In the pop world, Aamir Rizvi has also opened for Emmy Winner, Vir Das in 2022 and 2023 as part of his world tour in Kolkata, Anuv Jain in 2022 and 2023 and Osho Jain in 2024. He also opened the The CCU Festival in 2022.

Aamir has been associated with some of Kolkata's finest musicians including playing with Sumith Ramachandran and Pradyumna Singh Manot. Since 2023, Aamir has been learning Brazilian, Cuban, and Jazz Music from India's finest Latin-Jazz Pianist Pradyumna Singh Manot. Since 2020, Aamir has been under the tutelage of India's most innovative guitarist, Amyt Datta.
