Nick Mardon — Performer, Producer, Instructor
Nick Mardon is a Seattle-based guitarist, vocalist, producer, and educator known for his relentless work ethic, stylistic versatility, and deep connection to live performance. Born and raised in the Snoqualmie Valley just outside Seattle, Nick’s musical path began early—after being inspired by a band at a family backyard party, he picked up the guitar and never put it down.

From ages 7 to 16, Nick studied guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals, building a multi-instrumental foundation that would later define his career. While still in high school, Nick began teaching independently, taking on private students while actively performing at local wine bars, events, and clubs. Early in this transition from student to instructor, he also held teaching stints with Roberts Music Institute, Kaleidoscope School of Music, and Seattle Drum School of Music, gaining valuable experience in structured music education alongside his independent studio.

Over the following five years, Nick logged nearly 1,000 performances, sharpening his craft at blues jams, bar stages, and any venue willing to give him a set.

As a bandleader and collaborator, Nick fronts the Nick Mardon Trio and regularly performs in multiple configurations, including a duo with Audrey Collins, while also taking on select collaborative and tribute projects such as Washed In Black, a Pearl Jam tribute. His musical voice blends the spirit of ’60s and ’70s blues and rock with the edge of ’90s alternative and a modern pop sensibility, drawing influence from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, and Pearl Jam.

Today, Nick balances a full-time career in music with his role at Emerald City Guitars—Seattle’s premier vintage guitar shop—where he has been on staff since 2021 and is frequently featured performing in the shop’s widely viewed YouTube demos. Alongside his work in retail and media, Nick maintains an active touring schedule, performing hundreds of shows annually across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, with appearances in Alaska, Las Vegas, Memphis, and New York. He has appeared on stages including the Moore Theatre, Tulalip Casino, Highway 99 Blues Club, and the Everett Historic Theatre.

In addition to performing, Nick is an in-demand instructor and a self-contained producer for local singer-songwriters, bringing songs to life from his home studio through arrangement, tracking, and production. He has collaborated with artists including Scott Clay, Audrey Collins, Aaron Crawford, Kitty Mae, Zan Fiskum, and Jesse James and the MOB. Whether onstage or in the studio, Nick Mardon is known for his professionalism, musicianship, and ability to create meaningful, memorable musical experiences.
