Artist bio
Jason Hazinski is a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and improviser from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Rooted in more than 25 years behind the saxophone, his music moves through soul, blues, reggae, ambient textures, and spontaneous improvisation—always carrying a sense of the mountains that shaped him.

Jason’s performances are built around the moment. Saxophone, keys, bass, percussion, live loops, and layered textures become the foundation for music that can drift from quiet and meditative to deeply rhythmic and expansive. Rather than simply recreating songs, he treats each performance as something alive: a conversation between composition, improvisation, place, and the people experiencing it.

His debut solo album, "Land of the Sky", arrived in 2021 as a reflection of Southern Appalachia, nature, and raw creative exploration. His forthcoming studio album turns inward, tracing a path through loss, healing, transformation, and renewal.

The new chapter begins with “New Moon,” arriving October 2, 2026, followed by new music including “Phoenix” and “Precious.” Across the project, familiar Appalachian landscapes become a backdrop for something more personal—a journey through darkness, change, and the possibility of beginning again. Like a fire burning down to its embers and finding new life, the music explores what remains, what heals, and what can rise from it.

Alongside his solo work, Jason performs and tours with reggae-rock band TreeHouse! and has spent years recording, collaborating, and performing throughout the independent music scene. He has shared stages and festival bills with artists including The Wailers, Steel Pulse, 311, SOJA, Stick Figure, and The Hip Abduction.

Whether performing in a room full of people or building an interactive livestream from his studio, Jason approaches music as an experience rather than a fixed product—something created in real time, shaped by connection, and never played exactly the same way twice.
