Malstrom

Malstrom is a trio from Germany and Switzerland, touring internationally. Their music sits between progressive rock, nu metal, electronic textures, and free improvisation, constantly shifting, colliding, and dissolving.
Rather than following genre rules, this band treats composition as a living system: structures are complex but never fixed, and improvisation is not decoration, but a driving force. Jazz language meets the raw energy of 90s rock and metal. The trio shapes it into dense, often brutal soundscapes.
Their sound is defined by 8-string guitar, saxophone, and relentless grooves, building massive sonic walls and repetitive ostinatos that pull the listener into a vortex where precision and chaos, composition and spontaneity coexist.
Malstrom has released six albums and toured for over ten years, performing in Japan, China, India, Israel, across South America and Europe, including international festivals, clubs, and workshops.
