Serena Clara

South London alt-pop artist and producer Serena Clara makes self-defined 'existential poetry pop'. Songs are texturally semantic and lyrically rich, dipping in and out of elaborate metaphor and stark reality. Her visuals channel the theatric spirit off femme alt-pop icons like Kate Bush and Björk, with expressive movement at the core of her live shows and visual world.

Drawing from her own life, having lived largely independently since the age of 14, Serena explores the psychological and emotional complexities of self-reliance through her music, finding in it a form of reliable therapy.

Her upcoming EP, EGOKIN (out Nov 12), follows the success of her recent singles Big Bad Pearl and Pomegranate, both featured on New Music Friday, Alt/Pop, and Our Generation playlists, among others. She’s also received continued support from DMY, who call her “one of the UK’s most intriguing emerging voices.
