4-time GRAMMY Award winner Kalani Pe‘a and Hawai‘i’s 2023 and 2019 Favorite Entertainer of the Year Taimane take the stage at Lobero Theatre on Wednesday, February 3 for a night of innovation and tradition. Both Pe‘a and Taimane are pushing the music of Hawai‘i forward into the stratosphere, breaking glass ceilings while paying homage to the roots of their creations and wowing audiences around the world.
Native Hawaiian Pe‘a is a dynamic and charming performer with vocal brilliance and a wide range of songs and styles, from Hawaiian to Classical to R&B, that showcase his deep cultural roots and Hawaiian contemporary soul. Pe‘a received his 4th GRAMMY for his most recent release “Kuini”, the only Hawaiian artist ever to win in the Regional Roots category.
Hapa Sāmoan (part native Samoan and part Caucasian) Taimane is best known for her fierce and inventive style of playing the ‘ukulele, merging a wide array of genres, from Bach to rock, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns, summoning a seemingly limitless palette of emotions via an instrument previously viewed as restricted.
At Lobero Theatre, Pe‘a and Taimane will share the stage as part of their first-ever tour after receiving rave reviews for their debut performance together at Sony Hall in New York City.

“I didn’t see anyone at the [SXSW] festival doing anything close to what she [Taimane] does on stage. She shreds on ukulele and rocks everything from Beethoven to Led Zeppelin. Artist bio
Taimane translates to diamond from Samoan and perfectly reflects the different facets of her nature. Whether delicately finger-picking through Bach or radically ripping through Led Zeppelin, Taimane has the ability to morph genres – from classical to rock to flamenco – and stretch her instrument far beyond the familiar melodies of Hawai`i, where she grew up. In addition to performing her own distinctive versions of well-known pieces, Taimane weaves in original compositions that are as far ranging as her musical tastes. With the fierceness of a rocker, and the grace of a dancer, Taimane and her music are wowing ever-larger audiences. She lights up rooms wherever she goes, sparkling like the diamond that she is.

What fans are saying
Taimane was incredible as part of the Int'l Guitar Night along with guitarists Thu Le, Alexander Misko and Lucas Imbiriba. Brilliant! If you can get to one of the shows on their 2026 tour, jump on the chance.
