Lauritz Kaasa

Lauritz Kaasa is a Norwegian drummer and songwriter who recently signed with the French record label Record Makers (Kavinsky, Sébastien Tellier, AIR).

After moving to Paris in 2020, he took a break from touring as a drummer to work on his own project, inspired by the rhythms of Talking Heads and Arthur Russell’s genre-defying approach.

He has developed a sound in which his vocals are carried by organic grooves and driving drums. Live, the project features Lauritz on vocals and drums, alongside a band consisting of bass, guitar, and piano/synth.

On his debut EP, Two Floors Under, released in May 2026, he worked with Swedish producer Baba Stiltz, among others. During its release week, the single To Tell You Why was highlighted by Les Inrocks, which described Lauritz as “the best thing that could have happened to rock this week.”
