Rising Star (NRC) guitarist and composer Ella Zirina (1997, Latvia) is a distinctive voice in the Dutch and international jazz scene. She brings to the instrument new colors, perspective and aesthetics, making music that is full of beauty, satisfying the ears, brain and heart.
She was in residency at BIMHUIS for ‘New Makers’ talent development project from 2021 until 2023 within which she recorded her debut studio album ‘Intertwined’.Since then she's released 5 album in total as a leader and has collaborated with many artists such as Pablo Held, Otis Sandsjö, Ben van Gelder, Tineke Postma and many more.
