Everest Jr.

Everest Jr. began as Everest in Indianapolis in 1997, with Todd Fisher (vocals, guitar), Stasia Demos (keys, vocals), John Byrne (lead guitar), and Mark Kocher (bass). Fisher’s earlier band, Neena Foundry, leaned toward noisy ’90s alternative rock; Everest moved in a different direction, drawing on Americana, ’70s AM pop, indie rock, and power pop to build melodic, harmony-rich songs with layered arrangements.

The band was active for two years and started an album that remained unfinished at the time. Members continued to reunite occasionally for local benefit shows, and nearly three decades later, the original recordings were completed, mixed, and released with help from friends.

Now performing as Everest Jr., the band returns with a record that began in the late ’90s and finally found its way into the world decades later.
