I'll be helping RDC celebrate their birthday with some kora and djembe! Raleigh Drum Circle will be celebrating its 24th Birthday on Weds, Sept 16th at Pullen Park! 6:45 - 8:45pm. Gather on the event lawn before 6:45pm to help us finish setting up and find your place in the circle. We plan to have birthday cake as well as a raffle! Bring your drum/hoop and come celebrate with your community! Also, you might want to bring along a chair just in case. We normally have a large gathering of RDC regulars and guests for the Birthday Bash each year. This special drum circle will have featured group performances interleaved with drumming. We'll have our PA system setup with mics, etc. for use as needed. We have coordinated bringing several sets of ballet duns which can be shared through out the evening. Admission to the Birthday Bash is FREE, but bring cash for raffle tickets, RDC tshirts and stickers! Volunteers will be selling raffle tickets the night of the Bash. One raffle ticket is $3 or two for $5. The more tickets you buy, the better your chances of winning! Must be present to win. This is the annual fundraiser for RDC. We have an assortment of great prizes including: Remo Apex key-tuned djembe, hula hoops (by Larry), juggling sticks (by Shep), dragon staff (by Alan), and a ticket for free admission to Profound Peace!
