Laughing About Nothing is a Portland-based alternative rock band blending punk, pop, and grunge into dynamic, high-energy sets. The group was formed by Andy (guitar) and Margaret (vocals), who met randomly in Spain and bonded over their shared love of Liz Phair.

They eventually came to Portland to explore the city, and Andy told Margaret, “Look, it’s full of weirdos like us—let’s stay and start a band!”
Before long, they joined up with Sam (drums) and Colby (bass).

Inspired by the sea, nature, and human connection, their emotive harmonies and heartfelt lyrics aim to move and entertain audiences.

The band has released three singles so far and is currently working on their debut album. They’re also set to perform at the Sandy Pride Festival this June and also Shady Pines Festival on July , along with a series of other upcoming shows.
