P.H.A.T. son: Michele Vassallo (saxo tenor), Antonio Paolillo (saxo alto), Gianmarco Capece (teclados y sintetizadores), Roberto Santoro (guitarra), Giovanni Galdo (bajo) y Joe Allotta (batería).

Artist bio
Funk band based in Campania, P.H.A.T. was born from shared musical
experiences and a desire for expression and interaction. The result is
contaminated and unpredictable: the funk foundation creates engagement
and empathy, shaping an open and communicative show infused
with hip-hop, soul, and jazz backgrounds.
The band’s sound is steeped in electronic textures, psychedelic tones,
funk, jazz, and hip hop. The fusion of these influences gives rise to
an original character reminiscent of the modern new jazz and new funk
sounds from across the ocean.
Strongly inspired by cornerstones of this sound such as James Brown
and The J.B.’s, Funkadelic, Ghost-note, Robert Glasper, the band
embraces a groove-driven and expressive style.
In December 2023, the group won first place in the
national contest “Palchi Belli”, organized by Rockit and Tuborg.
P.H.A.T’s first album will be published in September 2026
with Sghetto Records.
The members have played in various projects, performing at Umbria Jazz,
touring across Italy and abroad, and defining their creative path
through the recording of several albums.
Their shared experiences across the Campania music scene have
strongly cemented the band’s cohesion and harmony.
P.H.A.T. is: Michele Vassallo on Tenor Saxophone,
Antonio Paolillo on Alto Saxophone, Gianmarco Capece
on Keyboards & Synth, Roberto Santoro on Guitar,
