Two decades after their first meeting, Italian-British singer-songwriter Piers Faccini and Malian kora master Ballaké Sissoko reunite their talents on Our Calling, an album released in 2025.
Their musical dialogue, where folk meets Mandingue traditions, creates a sensitive bridge between West Africa and Europe.
An ode to migration, travel, and musical friendship.

Artist bio
Piers Faccini began his music career in London in the band 'Charley Marlowe', which he fronted alongside the poet Francesca Beard. In 2001, the band ended and Piers started solo work. He writes music for television - notably the BBC - as well as painting. His first solo album 'Leave No Trace' came out in 2004.
His music is often described as nomadic, hybrid folk-blues. He is a natural heir to the great Anglo-Saxon singer-songwriters of the 20th century, while drawing deeply on the ancestral musical traditions of Mediterranean and West African cultures. His voice and songwriting are often compared to those of Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen.
Faccini has collaborated over the years with many musicians and singers including Rokia Traore, Busi Mhlongo, Ben Harper, Ballake Sissoko, Vincent Segal, Camille, Francesca Beard, Patrick Watson, Dawn Landes and Ibrahim Maalouf, amongst others.
He is currently based in France.
