DOUBLE HEADER with Liz Overs and Ed Blunt LIZ OVERS A songwriter, singer of traditional folk and folklore enthusiast. Her first solo album Nightjar was made alongside the Sussex coast with Neill MacColl, Ben Nicholls, and David Tomlins. Under a previous signing to Atlantic Records, Overs had a number one club hit in the US. She has since written and sung for Chalk Horse Music and hosted a radio show covering the music, folklore and social history of Sussex. His music sits somewhere between Paul Simon, Rufus Wainwright and The Divine Comedy, built around storytelling, rich chamber-pop arrangements and a cinematic sense of scale. Mentor Chris Difford (of Squeeze) discovered his talent for the first time, calling him a “quiet genius.” Since then, Ed has collaborated with Beth Nielsen Chapman, Jamie Lawson and Elles Bailey, supported Beth Rowley and David Ford. This autumn Ed releases his new album, Things No Machine Could Ever Understand, alongside a 14-date UK tour. The album is out on 6 November. Written in a time of technological upheaval, it keeps returning to the things that make us stubbornly human.
