Client Biography

There is more than one artist with this name:

1) Client are a futurist British musical group who tour Europe. They combine Scandinavian air hostess uniforms with glamour-girl aesthetics and harsh electronics to create a sound reminiscent of early forays into electronic sound manipulation and New Wave.

The original band members were formerly known only anonymously as Client A and Client B, to the extent that their faces were not shown on any publicity photos. It has since been publicised that they are Kate Holmes, the wife of Creation Records founder, Alan McGee, also formerly of Frazier Chorus and Technique, and Sarah Blackwood, the former lead singer of Dubstar. In late 2005 a new member, Client E, joined the group but later departed the group in the summer of 2007. This was Emily Mann who was a contestant on the Five TV reality show Make Me a Supermodel and is also an artist and DJ.

They also host the Being Boiled club night in London.

Client was the first act signed to Depeche Mode keyboardist Andy Fletcher's record label, Toast Hawaii. They have toured with the likes of Depeche Mode and have been described as a combination of "The Pet Shop Boys at their most commercial and The Human League at their most obscure".

Their video for "Pornography" was directed by French video production company Schmooze and features former The Libertines co-frontman, Carl Barât on co-vocals.

The song "Down to the underground" features Pete Doherty, former co-frontman and songwriter of The Libertines.

They also performed a special duet with Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb on "Suicide Sister".

Their third album, Heartland, produced by Youth and Stephen Hague, was released in July 2007 and saw the band licenced through different labels globally. Their final single from Heartland "It's Not Over" was released in October 2007.

Most recent tour collaborations include Charlotte Hatherley, formerly of Ash and Robert Gorl, formerly of Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft. Previously Joe Wilson of Sneaker Pimps had shared the stage.

2) Client is an oldschool 1980s hardcore punk/thrash band from Japan.
